A Basket Case
Touch Mkhize has never been one to stay away from uncomfortable topics be them controversial (his forte) or deeply personal (as with Stevie) but perhaps Touch had met his match when he invited the driver of the Voodoo Vervent to Touching Base.
Touch asked Blackcat what his fascination with bewitching was, suggesting that it wasn’t real. “Oh the black arts are very real,” he said frightening Touch half to death with his deep baritone voice, “and I am a master of them. I did not pick this life, this life picked me.
“I know that people believe witchcraft evil but it’s no different than any other faith: it’s a system of beliefs.”
Blackcat went on to explain that inside him beat the heart of a conqueror and that he was here to
conqueror the F-X Kingdom.
While Touch tried to redirect the show, Blackcat wasn’t having any of it as he offered to bewitch Touch’s rival as a gift and proof that his powers were real. While Touch would go on to say that he was fine and thanked him, it was clear that Blackcat was indeed a basket case.
