March 15 - Season 2

Face Off of the Century

When the Formula-X King, Solo Magubane, and the Claimant to the F-X Crown, Thawn Oberhauser took to the middle-stage to sign their feature-race contract at the top of the hour, everybody knew that there would be fireworks.

Following the heated encounter during the press conference, it seemed that things have boiled over as the King and the Claimant actually had to be physically held back the moment they stepped on stage to cheers of the crowd.

While it was surprising for Moodswing to be the one to take the microphone and call out the crowd for wanting them to fight and the racers for acting unprofessional, it was not at all out of character. After all, it is still important that Moodswing and Glenwood Jacobs retain a measure of control over the show and not let chaos reign.

Moodswing however made it up to the fans by telling the King and the Claimant that they would “get the chance to pick their poison for their opponents tonight as it will be combat by champions”.

Moodswing then forced the King and the Claimant to sign their parts of the contract while still being held apart by security guards.

With things at a fever pitch, it’s only fitting that this intense rivalry, possibly one of the greatest in Formula-X will come to an end at the FESTIVAL OF THE FALL.

Where the Pretenders Fall Off

When Touch invited the two F-X racers in the feature race in 2 weeks, he surely had no idea that an iconic expression would be coined on his very show.

It was the King himself, Solo Magubane, that gave life to the expression that has been immortalized across the fandom: “Do you know why they call if the Festival of the Fall? Because on the highway to The Formula-X Grand Prix, this is where the pretenders fall off.”

While fans have been running wild with memes quoting the line on The Formulary, other F-X racers have been seen referring to it in regards to their own races on Fame-Frame.

However it’s the phrase’s use on Formula-Feed that has taken the cake as it seems that the Club President has taken a very keen interest in it. But it’s no surprise that he has.

It has not gone unnoticed, the uncanny resemblance that many of the themes used in the Formula-X Series have with A Song of Ice and Fire (right down to “Amandla’s Rebellion”). And it is quite possible that Moodswing sees this phrase as the Formula-X’s equivalent to “when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.” That line as used in Game of Thrones set up the theme for the entire series. As such, so does King Solo’s line for the FESTIVAL OF THE FALL.

Moodswing’s fascination with the upcoming pay-per-views’ new catchphrase has even driven him to using the line on the posters to advertise the upcoming event.

Despite Moodswing taking advantage of the line, the man who said it and the man to whom he said it too are not at all taking the words likely as both racers look to not be the pretender that will fall off the highway to the Grand Prix.

March 1st - Season 2

Sit Back and Enjoy the Adrenalin Rush

After the announcement of the return of the FESTIVAL OF THE FALL, it was inevitable that the announcement to follow would be that of the return of one of the most infamous pay-per-view tracks on the Formula-X racard: the “Reclining Chair” track.

The track is also known as the “Dentist’s Chair” due to the pain associated with going to the dentist. And indeed, after last season’s Festival of the Fall, this track has lived up to it’s reputation.

When F-XQ asked a couple of racers about the announcement of the return of this treacherous track, many admitted to dreading it, especially after they noticed the pattern that F-X was clearly following.

While most of the racers dreaded the return of the track, the fan base could not be more excited. After all, it was them that benefitted the most from the exciting races that took place on it last year, which saw then-King Mandla Xulu take on Jim Kieck along with not one but two 3-Way races that left a memorable impression.

John Kloof — one of the few F-X racers not unhappy about the return of the track — was actually excited about the prospect of racing on it again as he marks the previous Festival of the Fall as the moment when he truly cemented himself as a feature-racer in the Series.

This year, all eyes are on Styles Sithole to break into the feature-race picture as F-X fandom has been buzzing on Style’s abilities and his latest wins catapulting him into having the makings of a star.

However, unlike other racers on the PPV racecard, Styles will have to go through 3 other racers to achieve his goal of being considered one of the elite.

All in all, this event is shaping up to be something special.
