TOUCHING BASE

Jim Kieck and Mandla Xulu

Touching Base has never been accused of  being boring but this past week’s instalment was something worthy of being an epic smackdown.

Touch Mkhize invited both Claimants to the F-X Throne to his talk show because apparently there hasn’t been enough excitement in the lead up to the SHOW-DOWN feature-race.

Touch asked both guests why they each believed they should be the King of Formula-X. Mandla was first to answer. “As someone who’s been King before I think my history speaks for itself. My reign saw this series gain popularity. “

Jim was less interested in history. “I think it’s time for a change, to quote a great leader — unlike someone I know sitting next to me. The problem with my fellow claimant here is that he’s old news. We’ve seen all that before. And while he did a good job getting us here, Kloof is proof that we’re ready to move on and I think we’re ready to move further.”

Kieck then asked if he could kick Mandla’s chair from under him leading to the two ending off in a stare down.
