When Thawn challenged Solo tonight, it was clear that he believed that it was a sure-win. When Solo wanted it changed into a #1 Claimant’s Race, Thawn was convinced that he was about to make it back to the top.
After all, he had beaten Solo repeatedly when he was King. So when Solo outperformed Thawn in the feature-race, it was a moment that had to be seen to be believed.
While Solo was humble enough in the Winner’s Circle to say that luck did play some part, Captain Khumalo form the commentary box pegged it down to the difference between the Fuel Speedway and a PPV track.
However Solo’s worrying about what brought him to the dance as his focus is now squarely on making sure he makes it count.
Solo is no stranger to claiming the Crown as he had claimed the Crown multiple times early in the 1st season, every time bested by then-King Thawn. This time, Solo is hoping to avoid losing to the King even once.
“I think that the fans are tired of repeated claims to the Throne so I’m going to do this once. If I can’t beat King Jim, then I won’t be claiming again until I work my way back to the top.”
So it looks like Solo will be looking to give the fans what they want but can he capture the Crown in 1 try?
