The Other Gauntleteers
After successfully taking Blackcat Mathunzi’s slot in the gauntlet race for himself, Touch Mkhize decided to invite his fellow gauntleteers onto Touching Base.
While Touch is usually the one to create tension with his controversial questions, this week seemed to have tension built in as both Stevie and JVZ seemed reluctant to share a stage.
Feigning himself a mediator, Touch asked what was up. Stevie was the first to answer.
“Perhaps you should ask the Asphalt Artist here considering that he was the one that lost us the race against the Relay Barons. So much for being on the same team.”
JVZ was not one to back down from a taunt. “Well I did the best that I could under the circumstances but the truth is, you were the one that was only in it for herself. You forgot that we were part of a team.”
It was Touch who laid it out cold. “Look, while I appreciate both of you wanting to act like a team, the truth is we’re not. We may have the same objective, but at the end of the day, only one of us can break the gauntlet.”
