The Gauntleteer Showdown
While we may be in the shadow of the Show-Down, we certainly witnessed the highlight of the month when the three gauntleteers met in a titanic 3-Way race that completely stole the show.
The race started off with Styles taking the lead with JVZ right on his tail and Thawn following from the rear. While it initially appeared that Styles and JVZ had the feature-racer’s number, appearances were deceiving when Thawn overtook JVZ around the 7th lap.
It became clear by the 15th lap when Thawn took the lead that Thawn was playing to his strengths and experience in feature-races by taking charge late in the game.
Unfortunately with 15 more laps to go, it seemed that Thawn's plan had been executed too early. By the 20th lap, Thawn found himself in trouble as he and Styles fought over 1st position. While Styles managed to take the lead in the 24th lap, JVZ made good use of his power-boost when he accelerated right past both Thawn and Styles to take the lead in the 25th lap and managed to keep it right into the 30th and final, taking the win.
Styles barely managed to hang on to his 2nd place position leaving Thawn — the man with the honor of being the last gauntleteer — ironically taking last place. What could this mean for the outcome of Sunday’s race
