The Feline
On the first instalment after the Christmas break, Touch Mkhize welcomed everyone back and told his live audience that he had a treat for them: his guest for the night was none other than F-X’s newest member: The Feline, Fiona.
“Blackcat is not a basket case. He’s a masterful practitioner of an extinct religion. More than that, he’s my friend, so please don’t bash him in front of me. The two of us go way back. We grew up together.”
No longer caring to be thrown off guard, Touch pushed on and asked whether she was brainwashed. “No. This is why I came here. You have these people believing that Blackcat is some sort of cult leader when he’s not. He’s just a deeply religious man.”
Fiona went on to explain that Blackcat does get carried away and that his work with spells is quite frankly no more potent than a Catholic’s prayer. “Belief does the grunt work.”
