November 30th - Season 2

The King is Going to the Bash

It was to a chorus of cheers that King John Kloof entered the Fuel Speedway after managing to defeat not one but two claimants in one of the most thrilling feature-races in any PPV.

While “Gauntlet I” has been credited with being the best race of the Show-Down in Durban, it was the 3-Way race between King Kloof, Jim Kieck and Mandla Xulu that won the hearts of the fans as emotions ran high.

So when the King was congratulated by both Glenwood Jacobs and Moodswing, it was definitely a moment. However King Kloof was not the only “winner” of this past Monday as Glen and Moodswing had an announcement to make that would affect the King in the near future.

The first was that the next pay-per-view would take place in two weeks and will indeed be the YEAR END BASH. The showrunners then told the King that he would be defending his Throne against Jim Kieck in the feature-race.

This revelation was a heartwarming moment as it would finally see the #1 Claimant get the one-on-one race he deserves after being somewhat cheated out of that opportunity last PPV with the inclusion of Mandla.

It will be interesting to see how these two F-X racers fair against each other in one-on-one competition having not faced each other since the One-Kilometer Derby over a year ago. While they almost faced each other two weeks ago, their race got cancelled which can almost be seen as a blessing for Moodswing who now gets to bill this race as “a year in the making”.

Regardless of how this race is billed, one thing is for sure: the year will end with one of the most anticipated replays of the year.

The Show-Down Feature Race Contract Signing

History in the making. That’s what the feature-race this Sunday is being marketed as. After all, it will
be the first time that the Throne will be defended against 2 opponents and not just one.

But while the marketing team goes on about history being made, the fandom watches on as 3 racers look to lock horns and see who the better racer is. This week saw King Kloof, Mandla Xulu and Jim Kieck take to the middle-stage to sign the contract for the pay-per-view encounter.

It’s no secret that the F-X Crown picture has been marred in controversy as Amandla’s Rebellion “marches” on. However Formula-X has taken great strides to try and separate the controversy from the Throne by isolating the events of Amandla’s Rebellion from the title.

It was due to this effort that Jim Kieck found himself entered into the fray and Kieck has made it known that it was because he didn’t have a part to play in that story that he believed he had the highest chances of coming out of SHOW-DOWN with the F-X Crown.

Meanwhile Mandla Xulu believes that the only reason he will win is because being King is his rightful place in the F-X world.

Just as with their press conference, their contract signing was without incident as each man looked to maintain their edge; playing a game of chess where the first man to show anger might as well be the man who will come last with the one who keeps his composure being a shoe-in to take the race and the Crown.

However, despite this game of chess between these 3, after it’s all said and done, it will be the fastest man that will take the Crown home.

November 16th - Season 2

 The Kloof/Xulu/Kieck Press Conference

After the Commentary team’s recap of last week’s episode, Monday Night Fuel opened with a good old fashioned press conference broadcast live from the F-X Conference Centre right onto the multiple big screens around the Fuel Speedway.

This would be the first time that a press conference for a feature-race of a pay-per-view would have three individuals taking the stage. While tensions were high, the trio managed to keep things being about the event rather than any bad blood.

While there were questions that riled up the F-X racers, it seemed they were determined to keep their cool. According to Miss Honeycomb and Captain Khumalo, the reason that they weren’t trying to antagonize each other was because they knew that while two of them were bickering, the third one could easily use this to his advantage at SHOW-DOWN IN DURBAN and win the Crown.

Despite no personal animosity being on display, the conference wasn’t without professional animosity as King Kloof made it clear that he was confident that he had what it took to win, having beaten each of the claimants before while Jim Kieck insisted that that he’d win because the King had gotten used to only one opponent.

Ironically, when Mandla Xulu posited his opinion, he noted that power-boost wasn’t banned at the PPV and as such, his two opponents shouldn’t be surprised if he took the race right from under them.

Kieck and King Kloof were questioned about their upcoming race tonight that would complete the trio of power-boost banned races. While King Kloof was confident that his experience in them would give him the win, Kieck surmised that it was this overconfidence that would allow him to take the Crown come PPV.

November 9th - Season 2

The Show-Down is Going to the Mainland

In an unprecedented move, Formula-X is making history as, for the first time ever, the Series goes to the mainland.

It was announced on Feeder just last night by the Commissioners of Fuel that the upcoming pay-per-view will be taking place in Durban.

This will be a first for the series as up until now, there has never been a race to take place on the mainland of South Africa. FXQ decided to find out what led to this decision.

While most of the Commissioners of Fuel were tight-lipped about the decision, FXQ managed to discover that the final verdict did not come from any of them at all, but rather from the investors.

The investors of the Formula-X Series have been silent partners from the beginning. So the question was why were they breaking their silence now? As it turns out, this all leads back to Amandla’s Rebellion and the continuing marches across the streets of Ngelosi.

The investors were worried that if Formula-X hosts their PPV on the other side of the Island Province that the protesters would swiftly follow them there and suddenly the marches which only plagued Ngelosi as of now would spread across Azania like cancer.

While the idea is thoughtful, many wondered if it wasn’t a bit too fat fetched. Others wondered if making this move wasn’t giving this Rebellion too much power since now it could be said that they were able to unseat Formula-X form their home.

Regardless of why this decision was made, it cannot be understated that this PPV is a game changer as it will see Formula-X spreading its wings beyond the borders of the Island.

November 2nd - Season 2

The Third Man in the Race

Eight days ago, King John Kloof proved to the world that he was the undisputed Formula-X King when he defeated Mandla Xulu decisively on his best day with no mistakes and no power-boost to help him. Unfortunately, defeating the man did not lay to rest the rebellion that followed him.

This past week saw the marches of Amandla’s Rebellion turn a new page as the gathered crowds became louder and more unruly. It was due to this newly developed rowdiness that the local Metro Police were called in to assist and make sure that these marches did not become violent.

It did not take long at all for Deputy Mayor Xulu to put the blame for this new found rowdiness squarely on the shoulders of the Formula-X Series (see page 2).

It was directly due to this that the Commissioners of Fuel executed an intervention that was all too familiar with F-X fans and F-X racers when Moodswing once again added Mandla Xulu to the feature-race of the upcoming PPV.

Whatever stray fans that Mandla had that were not CMA followers, it’s safe to say that he’s lost them. But while the hate may be aimed at Mandla, the blame seems to have fallen right on Moodswing’s lap.

Many a fan took to The Formulary to vent their frustration that Mandla not only has gotten yet another shot but that in getting it, he’s turned the existing feature-race into a 3-Way and lowered both Jim Kieck and King Kloof’s chances at winning.

Moodswing was quick to send out a Feeder saying that while this decision and the last one like it from a month ago were decided by the Committee as a group, the decision to name a new #1 Claimant at Hallow’s Eve was not, suggesting Glen was to blame.
