AMANDLA'S REBELLION

It was the most-talked-about topic of the season (both F-X and winter) and it was also a moment that sparked an uprising. When Mandla Xulu lost the feature-race against John Kloof, absolutely no one could have predicted the uproar it would have on the populace of Azania Island.

The first sign of the dark days ahead was when Deputy Mayor Xulu questioned showrunners Moodswing and Glen as to what was going on. As it turns out, the Deputy Mayor believed that the sports entertainment nature of the Formula-X Series meant the showrunners had a measure of control on the outcome of races.

While the showrunners would release their own press conference to set the record straight about the legitimacy of the races, it would not stop rowdy members of the Congressional Metropolitan Alliance from taking to the streets in marches, protesting the removal of “their King” from the Throne.
Despite the negative press these protests have given the Formula-X Series, the F-X fan base unintentionally managed to turn misfortune into opportunity dubbing this saga “Amandla’s Rebellion” (despite the expression making no grammatical sense in English or in isiZulu).

And while the saga will surely have the showrunners busy, it will definitely have the rest of us entertained
